2 Girls About Town

Sundaylicious was back in full effect this past Sunday!!  Another two weeks had gone by since the super duo was able to get together...busy busy girls :)  To make up for lost time, Laura and I decided to try a heavy hitter on our list...Cafe Fleuri, which is in The Langham Hotel in Post Office Sq. downtown:   http://boston.langhamhotels.com/restaurants/sunday_brunch.htm.  I had my eye on this place ever since I checked it out online....and they did not disappoint us!  This place was A-MAZ-ING!!!!  The minute we glanced at the hotel from the outside, we knew we were in for a treat.  Laura and I had a 1:30pm reservation, but arrived a little early so we walked around the hotel.  It had a nice lobby (which was under construction), and we found this very fancy bar that we will one day have to go have a cocktail in.  It had spank chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and leather seats surrounding the gold bar that was glittering with light from the room.   After we walked around for a bit,  we went upstairs to the restaurant and were seated under a very cool high ceiling with glass windows that let all the natural sunlight in from the glorious 80 degree day we were having.....and this was just how the brunch started...with sparkle!!

After we sat down, our waiter, Diego, told us all about the food that we were about to enjoy.  Cafe Fleuri is set up with a series of stations that you go to...and there are ooooooohhhhhhh so many delicious choices. We ordered a coffee and a mimosa, and set off to get our food.  I didn't even make it 2 feet in the room when I grabbed a yogurt cup and a strawberry smoothie shooter!!!

I went back right away to get my first plate.  I was immediately overwhelmed with all the different kinds of food...do I start with the omelet station, or have some cheese and salad from the salad station?  Do I have pasta, or go straight to the dessert station?  I was basically walking around for what felt like forever trying to get a strategy going....Laura on the other hand went in like a champ with a plan in mind.  She had already decided before we got there to go for her plates in order of how we eat meals....breakfast, lunch, dessert...smart cookie that one!!  So she already had her 1st plate ready to go, so I made a call and went in for the kill...small bites first to try and save room.  We did a great job taking our time eating in order to savor this most unbelievably awesome brunch.  We had fresh made to order omelets (Laura added lobster to hers, and I had peppers, tomato, and cheese).  We had roasted beets with goat cheese (one of our top faves of the day).  I had the most amazing cherry danish that made me cry with delight (no really...tears came to my eyes it was that good!!)  We had pastas, and deviled eggs, and waffles and french toast (which I added a raspberry compote to..yum!).  Laura had some seafood, some lobster mac-n-cheese, and oysters...and we both had some bacon...we also had cakes and puddings...and they even have a chocolate fountain!!!!  Did I mention that we ate a lot of food? hehe....All in all I had 3 plates, and Laura had 4 plates....Don't judge!! :)  I will let the photos do the talking:

I have to say that I have never eaten that much in one sitting, and my stomach hurt for the rest of the day.....but it was worth it!!!!  This food was exquisite!!!  It was made fresh, and the way it is set up makes you want to eat everything.  You roam around like a kid in a candy shop, and make plate after plate after plate of scrumptious food.

We had so much fun eating, then heading back for more, and then eating again!!  The mimosas were fantastic, as was the coffee....this is one special place that everyone should eat at at least once.  I will definitely go back to Cafe Fleuri after I save up some money and some space in my belly :)  The staff there was very nice, and the whole package was by far the best brunch we have ever had!!  We give Cafe Fleuri.........11 eggs out of 10 for food, and 11 eggs out of 10 for atmosphere...yes that's right folks we just went Spinal Tap...10 wasn't loud enough for us so we took it to 11 :)
After brunch we decided to take a stroll around Boston since it was so lovely out...and to walk off our brunch :)  We ended up at the wharf, and sat down by the water and enjoyed the sunshine and our beautiful city.
This was such an amazing day!! Great food, and a moment by the ocean to plan fun Summer events coming up.......and our next Sundaylicious day next week.
